- Workshop Type: Arts
- Workshop Status: Open
- Workshop Start: March 5th, 2021 5:00 PM
- Workshop End: March 7th, 2021 4:00 PM
- Sessions: 3
This is a three-session online workshop, all times Pacific:
Friday, March 5, 5-7pm
Saturday, March 6, 1-4pm
Sunday, March 7, 1-4pm
You have explored the pop-up how-to books. You're ready to make your own pop-up project. You are stymied by the question: "How do I adapt these classic, foundational structures to make MY OWN structures?"
This workshop will help you think through that problem by exploring three different structures at three levels: foundational, transitional, and transformational. To add to the fun, you will employ an innovative roll-up binding approach (think scroll rather than codex) for the pop-up folios. In the end you will have a tidy bound collection of study models that will propel you to the next step of pop-up invention. All are welcome!
This workshop is the first in a series of three. The Level 1 structures are simplest. Levels 2 and 3 are increasingly more sophisticated. All levels will accommodate beginners. At each level, experienced participants will be challenged in new ways.

Past Student Reviews:
“It was a fabulous workshop.”
“Had fun being led through pop-up making instead of trying to figure a pop-up out through reading a book; instruction in a workshop includes warnings of accidental diversions and allows for in-the-moment questions and answers.”
“The whole setup was great. The content of the workshop was a good level too - I am a pop-up novice but felt I could manage to follow along quite easily.”
"This was a fantastic experience. Shawn is the best. He is knowledgable and so patient."
“The best best workshop I have taken on Zoom.”
