In this workshop both printing novices and those with some experience will use the Vandercook proof press to print two different kinds of party accoutrements: paper napkins, along with menu or cocktail cards to be filled in by hand when an occasion arises. Each student will choose from SFCB’s collection of type and ornaments to create their own design. Everybody takes home 20 napkins and 20 food or drink cards. Amaze your future guests! Be ready to party like it’s 2020!

About the Instructor | Lisa Rappoport

Lisa Rappoport publishes poetry broadsides and artist’s books under the imprint Littoral Press. Since 1998 she has produced a series of broadsides by the poets who teach at the Community of Writers at Squaw Valley workshops; she has also printed poetry broadsides for Lawrence Ferlinghetti and City Lights Books, W.S. Merwin, and many others. Her poetry has appeared most recently in her collection Penumbra (Longship Press, 2019), the anthologies Pluto: New Horizons for a Lost Horizon and The Richmond Anthology of Poetry, and elsewhere. She is the winner of the 1998 Icarus Poetry Competition and the recipient of a poetry residency at Centrum. Lisa has taught at North Bay Letterpress Arts, at Kala Art Institute, and in her own studio.
