In this evening workshop, students are guided through the basics of creating faux postage (a.k.a “artistamps”) using a variety of different mixed media techniques. Studying examples, students gather both inspiration and know-how, and then move forward to create their own perforated stamp sheets! At the end of the evening, students go home with a sheet of self-created artistamps and a multitude of ideas for more mail art projects.

Materials to Bring: Glue stick, scissors, X-acto knife or scissors, scotch tape and/or double stick tape, ruler, primary "mark-making" tools that you like to work use. Some examples would be: rubber stamps, pen & ink, graphite pencil, felt pen, colored pencil, etc. We will be working small (think postage stamp size!) items, please be sure to keep this in mind when choosing your tools.
