Learn to combine papercraft techniques with friendly, accessible electronics materials like copper tape, flat batteries, and bead-like LED lights. In this daylong course, we will apply these techniques to make glowing, interactive tunnel books that make creative use of light and shadow.

By the end of the day you will have learned to make simple circuits with copper tape, embed LED lights, add switches to create interactive behaviors, and construct a complete tunnel book.

No electronics experience necessary! The course is designed for complete beginners, and we are excited about sharing these fascinating materials with artists and creative crafters.

Materials to bring: All materials will be provided, but students are encouraged to bring any decorative papers they would like to augment or decorate their tunnel book. Textured and translucent papers like vellum and tissue paper, or colored cellophanes and gels can create particularly beautiful effects with light.

Workshop + Materials Fee: $220
