Masks are no longer required for most workshops, though anyone is welcome to wear one if they wish.

Whether you are a beginner or a seasoned artist, learning how to create image transfers will introduce you to a whole new world of using creative imagery in your work. Courtney will demonstrate her favorite methods from her book, Playing with Image Transfers on how to transfer onto paper, fabric, wood and more with inexpensive materials. The resulting images are beautiful for adding dimension and depth to all work.

Courtney will begin the class with demos on a variety of transfer methods using photocopies and found imagery. Spend the afternoon playing with these methods, layering them, and working them into your own sketchbook creating many samples to refer to.

>> Prerequisite: None <<

Materials to Bring:

  • A sketchbook with smooth paper
  • Scissors

Optional:

  • Laser photocopies of images you like, family photos, etc (ink jet prints will not work!)
  • Bits of fabric or ephemera to combine with tranfers
  • Bone folder
