In-Person Workshop Registration Policies

SFCB in person workshops are hosted at our Rhode Island Street facility. SFCB accepts no walk-ins to workshops; pre-registration is required.

Vaccine policy update March 2022: As of May 1, 2022 all students will be required to show proof of vaccination against Covid-19 to attend an in-person workshop, as well as wear a well-fitted mask (not a bandana or gaiter) for the duration of class. Students may email a copy of their vaccination record to alyssa@sfcb.org before class, or show proof upon arrival in class. SFCB reserves the right to turn away students who cannot submit proof of vaccination against Covid-19 or who refuse to wear a mask if so requested.

Registration:
Workshops require a minimum number of students in order to run; therefore we encourage students to register early. Workshops are filled on a first-come, first-served basis. You may register online (preferred), by phone, or in person. You will receive an email when your registration is fully paid and complete.

Waitlists:
We maintain waitlists for in person workshops. If a workshop is full, please add yourself to the waitlist via the website. Students on the waitlist will be contacted via email and phone if space becomes available; priority will be given to the first person signed up on the waitlist. We ask that waitlisted students not show up for a workshop unless they’ve been notified that there is room for them.

Cancellation Policy:
Credit will be issued if you cancel seven (7) or more business days before your workshop. If you cancel less than seven (7) or more business days before your workshop, no credit can be issued. You will forfeit the workshop fee unless a waitlist has been established and another student can take your place, in which case you will receive workshop credit.

Credit expiration has been on hold due to Covid. At some point in 2022, the six (6) month credit expiration policy will resume, applicable to both new and past credits. This page will be updated when that occurs.

If SFCB cancels a workshop:
Registered students will be notified If a workshop is at risk of cancellation due to low enrollment one week before the start date. If the workshop is cancelled, students will be given two days' notice of cancellation. If you are travelling to SFCB, please feel free to check in with us prior to finalizing your travel arrangements. If we cancel the workshop due to low enrollment, we will move you into the next available date for that workshop, or issue you a credit or refund at your request.

Absence Policy for Multi-Session Workshops:
SFCB does not offer make-up sessions for any missed workshop days. If a student misses a workshop session, they need to make up what was missed in that session by hiring a tutor for a private lesson before the next session of the workshop. The SFCB tutoring rate is $60/hr and requests for tutors should be sent to workshops@sfcb.org. Students missing workshop sessions without private make-up sessions for any Core Curriculum workshop will not receive certification or be able to rent studio time.

Additional Workshop Policies:
Photography and video recording of workshops are prohibited unless specifically authorized by the workshop's instructor. Under no circumstances shall audio, video, or photography be published online or in print without prior authorization by SFCB.
