The Wolf Who Ate the Sky

by Mary Daniel Hobson & Anna Rauh

Designed and illustrated by Charles Hobson

Published by Heyday Books, 2015

Book artist Charles Hobson will join his daughter, Mary Daniel Hobson, to describe the creation of the children’s book, The Wolf Who Ate the Sky.  Come and learn about this three generation collaboration between a three year old, her mother and her grandfather. Hear about how the story was developed and how the design and illustrations and were made.

Charles Hobson’s remarks about the design and illustration of the book will feature prototypes and preliminary drawings that came from responding to the narrative created by his daughter and granddaughter. This is much like how his limited edition artist’s books (such as Shipwreck Stories and The Imaginary Diaries of Adam and Eve) have grown out of a compelling narrative.

This presentation precedes the October 17, 2015 workshop at San Francisco Center for the Book, by Charles Hobson and Sandra Hobson entitled Memoir & the Artist’s Book.
