Online Workshop Registration Policies

SFCB online workshops are offered over Zoom as live classes. Registered students will receive an email containing the Zoom login information at least two (2) days before the start of the workshop. This link is for registered student use only; sharing is not permitted. Multi-session classes will use the same link for all sessions. All times listed are Pacific.

Registration:
Classes are filled on a first-come, first-served basis; we recommend you register online. If you need assistance please email workshops@sfcb.org or call 415-565-0545. Please note that we cannot reserve your place in a class without having received full payment. You will receive an email confirmation when your registration is complete. Please be sure you enter your email address correctly otherwise you will not receive Zoom links and other class information.

Waitlists:
We maintain waitlists for online workshops. If a workshop is full, please add yourself to the waitlist via the website. Students on the waitlist will be contacted via email and phone if space becomes available; priority will be given to the first person signed up on the waitlist.

Recording Policy:
SFCB online workshops are recorded; videos are password protected, not downloadable, and are available for four (4) weeks after the final class session. Students will receive an email containing the recording link and password the day (or Monday, if a Friday/Saturday class) after each class session. Recordings are for the use of registered students only and must not be shared in any way. We do not sell access to the recordings.

Kit Policy:
Some SFCB online workshops include a mailed kit of materials. Registered students will receive an email approximately three (3) weeks before class to confirm their mailing address. Kits are generally mailed via USPS two to three (2-3) weeks before the first session. After a kit is sent, workshop credit cannot be issued if a student needs to cancel as it is then too late for us to fill any cancelled spots. Students are encouraged to be proactive about tracking kits and looking for deliveries. If a kit does not arrive in a timely manner, please contact us. If a kit is missing but deemed delivered to the correct address by USPS tracking, SFCB is not obligated to send a replacement or issue a refund.

Cancellation Policy:
Credit will be issued if you cancel seven (7) or more business days before your workshop. If you cancel less than seven (7) business days before your workshop, no credit will be issued and you will forfeit the workshop fee unless a waitlist has been established and another student can take your place. If a credit is issued, you will be notified via email.

As of January 1, 2023, the six (6) month credit expiration policy has resumed. All credit accumulated before January 1 expired on July 1, 2023. Credit must be applied to a new workshop registration within six months of the issue date.

For online classes with mailed kits, credit cannot be issued after the kits have been shipped, as it is then too late for us to fill any cancelled spots. Kits are usually shipped 2-3 weeks before the workshop start date.

Keep in mind that since online workshops are recorded, even if you have a scheduling conflict you do not have to drop out of class; you can watch the recordings afterwards.

If SFCB cancels a workshop:
Online workshops will run only if the minimum student number is met. If you are registered for a workshop that will not meet that minimum, you will be notified two (2) days beforehand that the class will not take place. If we cancel the workshop due to low enrollment, we will issue you a credit or refund at your request.

Accommodations:
If you are a person with a disability and require an accommodation to participate in a program, service or activity, or require documents in alternative formats, please contact Sarah Songer at 415-565-0545 x 103 or email at sarah@sfcb.org.

Additional Workshop Policies:
Photography and personal video recording of workshops are prohibited unless specifically authorized by the workshop's instructor. Under no circumstances shall audio, video, or photography be published online or in print without prior authorization by SFCB.
