Come join us for a special evening to celebrate both ZYZZYVA Magazine’s new Winter Issue and San Francisco Center for the Book’s catalog of its current exhibition "In Remembrance: People, Times & Places".
 
Featuring readings by ZYZZYVA contributors Matthew Zapruder, Glen David Gold, Elizabeth Rosner, Jenny Qi, and Octavio Solis, as well as refreshments, and customized bellybands for the Winter issue! The In Remembrance: People, Times & Places exhibition, which reflects memories and thoughts about past people, times, and places through fine-press books, artists' books, ephemera, wall-hangings, altars, and photography of 50 artists will be on view in the gallery during the event.
 
Copies of both the exhibition catalog and the Winter issue will be available for purchase. 
 
Matthew Zapruder is editor-at-large for Wave Books, the poetry editor for The New York Times Magazine, and an associate professor in the MFA program at Saint Mary's College of California. He lives in Oakland.
 
Glen David Gold is the author of the novels Carter Beats the Devil and Sunnyside. His nonfiction piece “Operator, Information” is taken from The Last Kings of San Francisco, the forthcoming first volume of his-three part memoir called I Will Be Complete. He lives in San Francisco.
 
Jenny Qi is a doctoral student in biomedical science at UCSF Medical Center, and co-host of the podcast Bone Lab Radio. Her essays have appeared in The New York Times and The Atlantic. She lives in San Francisco.
 
Octavio Solis is an award-winning playwright and director whose plays have been performed at the California Shakespeare Theatre, Mark Taper Forum, Oregon Shakespeare Festival, and other venues. He lives in Oregon.
 
Elizabeth Rosner's most recent book is the novel Electric City (Counterpoint). Her book of nonfiction, Survivor Cafe, will be published by Counterpoint in the fall of 2017.
