SFCB has maintained a book arts youth education program since our inception in 1996. We focus primarily on providing workshops for K-12 and college students, adults, and classroom teachers. We also offer half and full day corporate activity workshops.
For all Field Trip and Adult Visits please contact SFCB at email@example.com.
Planning a Field Trip
A trip to the San Francisco Center for the Book makes a lively introduction to the varied arts and crafts that go into traditional bookmaking. Our typical 2 hour hands-on activities give participants a chance to pull a letterpress print and create an inventive book structure. Please contact us at least 3 weeks prior to your request date to determine availability. Prices vary depending on the size of the group. A non-refundable deposit is required to reserve a specific date.
Policies for Youth Field Trips: 20 students maximum; one or more chaperons per 10 students is required depending on the age of the students. Pricing on request.
Workshops for Teachers: SFCB offers workshops throughout the year that teach teachers a wealth of book formats to make with their students and suggest opportunities for using handmade books across the curriculum. Check our workshop schedule for current offerings.
