This is a two session online workshop.

Put your kitchen appliances to work making prints!

In this two session class students will first watch how a manual pasta machine can be used as a printing press. We will look at different ways to create and pull prints off the press. Between sessions students should experiment at home and come to the second session with questions; the instructor will help troubleshoot any problems and discuss how to incorporate these prints into your artist books. Students will show off their prints too, of course!

Session one will be informational, with demonstrations and Q&A, with a ‘dry-run’ so everyone can get a feeling for the process. Students will be expected to experiment with printing on their own as homework before the second session. In the second class students will have the opportunity to get feedback and advice while they print in class.

Please note: this class requires a hand-crank pasta maker - this will not work with a KitchenAid pasta attachment or other electric machine.

The class fee includes a kit providing: 2 pieces of felt, 2 pieces of chipboard, a piece of aqua printmaking plate, printmaking paper, and tissue paper.

Because of complications with international shipping, this class is only open to US students.
