In conjuntion with the Superstition 13 exhibit, SFCB is offering this special workhshop in shadow box making. Register for this visual storytelling workshop and create your own shadow box about the mysterious, the alchemical, the arcane.

Popular SFCB Instructor, Courtney Cerruti will lead this one day workshop. In the spirit of Joseph Cornell, participants will create a small world inside a shadow box. Give everyday objects a preciousness and delicacy by telling a story with them in this miniature scene. Students will learn how to combine two- and three-dimensional elements, layer images and objects, and create depth and narrative with their own shadow boxes. The shadow-box format has been used by all kinds of artists in the telling of their stories. Use the medium to commemorate an event or a loved one, or make a keepsake for a friend. All levels welcome.
