Presentation Album
More luxurious and complex than the Ideal Album taught in previous years, this is an extremely elegant structure suitable for presenting suites of prints, drawings or photographs. We will make the pages from a heavy and luxurious soft white etching paper, folded at the fore-edge, with an embossed, recessed area in the page for mounting the images. The embossed panel serves two functions: it provides a handsome frame for the mounted images to nestle in, and it ensures that the finished binding is of universal thickness. We will then are join together the folded pages with hinges of colored paper, which produce an easy opening structure, and add cloth joints for attaching to the cover. The cover has cushioned boards and is covered in a handsome canvas cloth, with a recessed panel on the front for the title label.
Materials to bring: bone folder, metal ruler, scalpel, cutting mat, dividers. These tools are available at SFCB for your use but some students like to bring their own.
Date & Time: Sunday, July 13 | 9:30am – 5:30pm
Workshop + Materials fee: $210
Prerequisites: None
