Want to print on oddly shaped paper or unusually thick stock such as pulp coasters? Try out our C&P floor model platen press. In many ways more challenging to use than a Vandercook proof press, this treadle-run or motorized press can produce larger editions in less time. Tackle issues specific to printing on a platen press, such as chase lockup, paper feeding, packing, registration, and using photopolymer plates. You'll investigate issues such as feeding paper in a consistent way, adjusting the platen, preparing makeready, and printing on thick paper. You’ll also learn how to score paper and use a creasing matrix. After you take this two-session workshop, you will be qualified to rent time on SFCB’s C&P floor model platen press.

Materials to bring: Please bring 1 or 2 line quotation or poem to print.

Materials Fee: $30
