Ever been curious about how to make a book? Introduction to Bookbinding is the place to start! This introductory course teaches basic structures and stitches that every book artist should know in order to create a multitude of books. You'll discuss the tools and materials for bookbinding and explore adhesives, paper types and uses, and grain for paper and book cloth. You'll learn a variety of structures—accordion book, single-section pamphlet stitch, vertical link stitch, flag book and Japanese stab—to make fun, simple books that can be turned into artists' books.
