This is a two session online workshop. Demand for the June session exceeded class capacity so we've added this new July date!

What’s a PopBox? It’s a pop-up in a box! It’s a paper-engineered structure that moves with the opening of a box rather than a card. When you bind four popboxes together, it’s a PopBox Cabinet.

This collection of popboxes celebrates mutualism (pairs of animals that benefit from hanging out together) so the structures have dimension AND the drama of creature interaction. Join Shawn online in building this colorful, cheerful project—and since it’s built from a pre-cut kit, all you have to do is assemble and enjoy.

The workshop fee includes a mailed kit containing all the pre-cut paper pieces required to complete the project. Students must supply other tools - see list below. Additional kits are available for purchase. Email Shawn for details. Non-US students, please contact us before enrolling to confirm that a kit can be shipped to you.

Past Student Reviews:

"Shawn is a phenomenal instructor. Even with such technical material, he was very efficient and effective in teaching via Zoom. His mastery, passion, and teaching style were very inspirational!"

“Had fun being led through pop-up making instead of trying to figure a pop-up out through reading a book; instruction in a workshop includes warnings of accidental diversions and allows for in-the-moment questions and answers.”

“The whole setup was great. The content of the workshop was a good level too - I am a pop-up novice but felt I could manage to follow along quite easily.”

"This was a fantastic experience. Shawn is the best. He is knowledgable and so patient."

“The best best workshop I have taken on Zoom.”
