This is a two session online workshop.

Let’s embellish old photos with colorful thread! Learn the basics of sewing on paper to transform photographs and postcards, or design your own.

In our first session we will start with the basics of embroidering on paper while thinking about drawing, linework and simple fills, practicing and using a found image or creating our own design. For our second session we will add additional patterns and fills to our repertoire, then bring our skills to vintage photos and postcards.

You will finish the class with at least one card and we will discuss ways to mail your creation… if you can part with it!

The workshop fee includes a mailed kit from the instructor containing all necessary materials.

Materials to Bring:

  • Mailed materials kit from the instructor

AND

  • Scissors, pencil, something for taking notes, and a ruler.
