This is a two session online workshop.

This is an introductory course designed to explore foundational reductive linocut printing as a technique for creating a multiple color block printed edition. The first session is an overview of the reductive block printing process. Tools and safety, materials and methods for creating viable printing and editioning stations at home, and image transfer techniques will be covered. The second meeting will be an in-class (online) working session, with an end goal of creating a small edition of prints in 2+ colors.

Live demonstrations will be supplemented with materials lists with resources. Students should come to the first session with an image that they would like to work on a sheet of paper, unless they prefer to draw directly onto their block. It is recommended that the image be simple and it should be formatted to fit within a 4 x 6 inch rectangle.
