Children’s board books make a great base for altered book projects. Their sturdy structure and small number of pages are ideal for repurposing. In this class students will lightly sand down the original pages and create a new book using collage, acrylic paints, and stamping. Students will be guided in ways to develop content and design cohesion using mixed media and painterly acrylic techniques. They will also learn how to add playful secret pockets, tags and pop-ups to add elements of dimension and surprise.

Materials to Bring: A board book. Fewer pages is better, between 3 and 12.

Workshop Fee (includes $15 materials fee): $100.00
Scholarships are available; please apply here.
