This online class will provide an extensive knowledge of the marbling universe. You will learn many secrets and how to execute all the most famous patterns.

Each of the four sessions will explore a different theme, focusing on two patterns and their variations. Discussion will include color theory and harmony in combining colors for marbling. The instructor will explain how to prepare the carrageenan bath and how to alum paper. Students will watch the live demonstrations with time to work and ask questions of the instructor. Students will also learn what materials and paint to buy to continue marbling on their own.

Pietro has designed a mini marbling kit that allows everyone to practice marbling at home with quality materials. Each student will receive a mailed kit containing: 15 sheets of prepared paper (enough for the first session), carrageenan, alum, 4 paint colors, 4 rakes, surfactant, pipettes, and a 9”x11” tray.
