This is a single-session online workshop.

It’s great to receive a handmade card and even greater to make one, especially when it opens to reveal a delightful 3D scene created with pop-ups.
In this class you will find out how to combine papers and collage with pop-up techniques to make a delightful little world out of paper. It can be Thanksgiving, Birthday or Holiday themed or just a unique card for a unique person.
You can make one or more and after this class you’ll be able to make them for every occasion.


Materials to Bring: 

  • Several pieces of paper 7”x11”, approx 98lb in white and assorted colors. Canson Mi-Teintes is a good weight. Patterned and marbled paper can also be used.
  • Paper ephemera for collaging, such as postcards, old calendars, childrens’ books, and gift wrap.
  • Scissors, decorative edged ones are useful 
  • Pencil 
  • Ruler
  • Glue stick

Optional

  • Matte Gel Medium or similar
  • Hole punch
  • Pattern Notcher
  • Pointy nail scissors

About the Instructor | Stephanie Jucker

Stephanie Jucker is an exhibiting artist who uses mixed media and printing techniques in her paintings, books and art installations. Originally from London, where she earned her BFA, Stephanie has an MFA from Syracuse in painting printmaking and ceramics. With 25 years of teaching experience, she currently runs art classes at College of Marin and Art Works Downtown in San Rafael.
