Using drawings made in class, students will create an artists’ book by deconstructing these drawings. Spark your creativity by playing with imagery and learning to use water media to create artwork on large sheets of paper. Through a series of folding and cutting, this work will be transformed into signatures. The instructor will assist each student in creating an interesting visual narrative. Paper grain and paper handling will be discussed in the deconstructing process and the drawings will be reconstructed anew as they are sewn together with a “doubleneedle” Coptic stitch. Hard covers will be glued into the front and back. Students will leave with a beautiful, magical, and cohesive artist's book.
