About Artist Books:
As one of the new artistic genres of the twentieth century, artist books are as exciting to design and build as they are to view. Contemporary artists continue to make books that push the definition of the book, as a multimedia, sculptural, narrative, art form. Unlike two dimensional artwork, the cadence, sequencing and amount of visual content and text are designed, allowing the viewer an explorative opportunity. Creating as well as viewing an artist books is a tactile, experiential journey. As a book artist you have the opportunity to be your own, author, artist/illustrator, typographer, printer and binder.
