Find out how to create a unique art book using textiles, stitching, inks and collage. We will begin by adhering a patchwork of fabrics and collage onto freezer paper. with acrylic medium. When dried the strip of materials peels off and has a stiffer more papery quality ideal for book making. It can then be folded into an accordion book and embellished with embroidery, stamping and ink painting. Simple sewing and embroidery techniques will be demonstrated, as well as ways to combine ink washes with stamping. The final fold out book will be attached to a textile cover that can also be decorated with these mixed media techniques.
