Explore the fun and intuitive nature of collage in this introductory, 2-week workshop. We will navigate through this picture-making technique by composing and layering found images and other materials on a blank picture plane surface, with the option to combine painted or drawn marks.

Students will be exposed to collage materials and techniques such as precision cutting, tearing, and different forms of application. They will learn color theory, compositional design elements, and have the opportunity to incorporate their unique narrative concepts into their work. Most materials will be provided in class including: surfaces to work on such as paper or panel, pencils, different kinds of adhesives (glue sticks, mod podge, Yes glue, PVA, matte medium), scissors, extra images and paper to work with: magazines, colored paper, etc.
