In this evening workshop, students are guided through the basics of creating faux postage (a.k.a “artistamps”) using a variety of different mixed media techniques. Studying examples, students gather both inspiration and know-how, and then move forward to create their own perforated stamp sheets! At the end of the evening, students go home with a sheet of self-created artistamps and a multitude of ideas for more mail art projects.

Materials to Bring: Scotch tape and/or double stick tape, primary "mark-making" tools that you like to work use. Some examples would be: rubber stamps, pen & ink, graphite pencil, felt pen, colored pencil, etc. We will be working small (think postage stamp size!) items, please be sure to keep this in mind when choosing your tools.

Optional and available at SFCB for student use during workshop: Glue stick, scissors, utility knife, ruler.
