There is nothing better than a good notebook! Print a few sturdy covers on the Cylinder Press using wood and metal type. Learn what types of found materials work well when printing on the Cylinder Press or assembling a notebook at home. Discover how to create a quick assembly line with friends to bind a few notebooks quickly. Students will go home with three or more completed pamphlet-stitch notebooks as well as a few extra letterpress covers to make more notebooks later.


Materials to Bring: Optional: paper that could make a good notebook cover.

Workshop Fee (includes $10 materials fee): $130.00

About the Instructor | Robin Weinert

Robin Weinert is an artist and printmaker living and working in Oakland CA. He has a BFA in printmaking from Maryland Institute College of Art, and a decade of experience in the commercial printing industry here in the Bay Area. Robin owns Oakland Printing Co. A specialty printing company, which focuses on letterpress, foil stamping, embossing and die cutting. His handmade books can be found in the collections of the University of Iowa, and Yale University, among others.
