Using sturdy hand-made papers as sewing supports, we'll create a cross-structure binding. It is a charming little book with colorful papers and threads, and thick watercolor paper interiors. Finishing the book with stitches and unique weaving patterns are possible.
Materials to Bring: pencil, bone folder, X-acto knife/scalpel, long dull kitchen knife/slicing blade, awl/needle tool, scissors, dividers, small triangle, metal straight-edge, screw punch with 1mm punch (optional).

About the Instructor | Judy Serebrin
Judith’s books and sculptures have been exhibited widely and have been collected by libraries, museums and individuals in the United States and abroad. She has been making limited-edition and unique books from etchings, monotypes, watercolors and drawings since 1989. Her work has been featured in many books about Artist’s Books and contemporary ceramics. She has been teaching at the SFCB from the beginning!
