Discuss tools and materials for bookbinding and explore adhesives, paper types and uses, as well as grain for paper and book cloth. Learn a variety of structures—single-sheet book, accordion book, single-section pamphlet stitch, dos-à-dos, and Japanese stab—and make fun, simple books that can be turned into artists’ books.

The instructor will give a full overview of the San Francisco Center for the Book’s Bookbinding Program and how (and why) to obtain the SFCB Bookbinding Certificate.
