The accordion book is a structure that is great for narratives, has many variations. In this workshop we will delve into this expanding and contracting world, learning 4 different ways to make an accordion book. You'll warm up by making a meander, or maze, book, then you will learn to make a folded accordion with a sewn wrap around cover, a leporello, a hinged accordion, and a tip-folio, or 'faux accordion'. You will also learn methods for adding extra sections to books before covering, as well as options for making and attaching covers. While content will be discussed and demonstrated, if time allows, this workshop focuses mainly on structure. This course is suited for both beginners and those with some binding experience.

Materials to Bring: X-Acto knife or similar, self-healing cutting mat, scissors, bone folder, round glue brush (2" diameter or smaller), metal ruler, binding needle (if you have one), archival glue stick.
