Useful for holding coupons, recipes, business cards and many other small treasures. This is a book structure created by Hedi Kyle, conservator and book arts instructor in Philadelphia. The Blizzard book has a spine made of folded pockets which hold the text pages in place. No adhesive is used in the structure. Varying the relationship between accordion section width and the height will produce larger or smaller pockets in the spine. If the height to width ratio is more than 4, the structure becomes a ‘crown book’. We will explore both structures and fold a cover out of tyvek – a very strong industrial used material to keep your ‘new blizzard wallet’ safe.
