Working primarily with the brush, we will get familiar with, and utilize, some fundamental sign painting concepts and formulas. Great for anyone who wants to incorporate the "painted" letter into their work.

Students will learn how to build sans-serif majuscules from scratch and practice the paint stroke orders, ultimately working the two together. We will look at, and practice, how to hand-paint gothic, casual gothic, and italic letters.  As a class we will concentrate on increasing brush control to get that "Sign Painted Look".

Students will have a firm understanding of how to improve or how to resource themselves if they wish to continue with this wonderfully revived craft, and be able to approach the book art form with wonderful ways to utilize painted text to convey ideas. We will look at, and practice how to hand-paint gothic, and casual gothic alphabets.

Instructor will give a good overview of all related materials and resources available to students wishing to continue to explore the world of sign painting.

Join us as we explore the great revival of "sign painting" in Art!
