In this workshop students will learn to make a simple pop-up structure. The content can be drawn or collaged onto the structure. It’s easy to adjust the size for other projects – like your very own pop-up greeting card! Each participant will leave with their own mini pop-up theatre and the ability to have fun and create a whole set at home.   


Materials to Bring: Optional and available at SFCB for student during workshop: bone folder, pencil, coloring pencils, small glue brush, scissors, utility knife, glue stick.

Workshop Fee (includes $10 materials fee): $65.00

About the Instructor | Bettina Pauly

Bettina is living in San Francisco as a book artist and working as a letterpress printer with Kim Vanderheiden at Painted Tongue Studios, Oakland, California. She teaches workshops at the San Francisco Center for the Book, the Academy of Art University and O’Hanlon Center for the Arts. She loves books and boxes both as physical objects and as containers of meaning. She is interested in a variety of folded, sewn and woven structures in which she can incorporate her printing.
