Saturday and Sunday, February 5 & 6

9:30am - 5:30pm

Curious about the anatomy of a book and how to construct one yourself? Examine the ins-and-outs of bookbinding through this introductory workshop. This course will teach you about the fundamental tools of the craft, materials (paper, cloth, board, and adhesives), and techniques (folding, sewing, gluing), as well as resources for buying your own supplies. Apply this new knowledge, using traditional methods, to construct two hard cover, hand bound, multi-section books (one full cloth cover, one paper and cloth combination cover).

Materials to bring: Scissors, Awl, Olfa snap blade or X-Acto knife, metal straight-edge with both English and metric units, cutting mat, pencil, bone folder, medium glue brush.

Materials fee to bring to workshop: $25
