Calling All Creatives: a community card project to celebrate SFCB’s 25th anniversary!
Deadline: Friday, September 17, 2021
How to participate:
The San Francisco Center for the Book turns twenty five this year and we’d like you to celebrate with us! Grab your favorite art making tools, rustle up some inspiration, and create a celebratory postcard, card, or ephemera-work for SFCB. We’re encouraging our creative community to pull out all the stops and send us something handmade by YOU for our anniversary! All works will become part of a pop up exhibition at this year’s Roadworks Steamroller Printing Festival (save the date! RW2021 will take place on Sunday, September 26th!)
All work sent to the SFCB for the “Calling All Creatives” project become the property of the San Francisco Center for the Book and will be archived as part of SFCB’s 25th anniversary collection.
What we’re looking for: handmade postcards, cards, small (printed) art/ephemera works celebrating SFCB! Here are some things to consider:
-
Works should be mailed directly to SFCB.
-
All mediums / techniques related to the book arts/printing are encouraged (some examples might include: ink, paint, letterpress, silkscreen, hand sewing, colored pencils, calligraphy – the sky’s the limit!) Feel free to incorporate text, images, an anecdote about SFCB – we want to hear from you!
-
Work should be no larger than 5 x 7 inches
Mail your SFCB anniversary card to:
