Monthly Archives: October 2011

Last week, our valued intern Meredith Hudson-Redfield, was spotted in an Oakland gallery… Meredith’s final exhibit for her BFA, which she will finish in December at California College of Arts, was a great success. Each piece in the gallery was a portrait of a member of Meredith’s family, some known to her and some curiously […]

Grendl And Her Spooky Third Thursday Open House: Halloween Edition

Hi bookish fans! I just wanted to give a gouly shout out to everyone who attended last Thursday night’s open studio slash Halloween party. All were aghast as we demonstrated letterpress printing for our unwitting guests. I’m pretty sure Grendl Löfkvist (our high demo priestess), clad in all black, didn’t even dress up specially for […]

A Book, A Book!

My first multi-section hard cover book, finished! I have been in love with books since before I could read (Harold and the Purple Crayon, anyone?), and I’m always making simple books and zines but I had never made a ‘real’ book. While receiving her BFA in Photography from the San Francisco Art Institute she took as many book and printmaking classes as possible. She now spends her time working as the Project Coordinator at SFCB, making and selling her printed and bookish wares, and learning French.

Roadworks 2011: A Day in Pictures

Things have been a bit quiet on the blog front, but only because they have been so busy here at SFCB! Now that autumn is in full swing, we’ll have more time to sit down at our computers and document all the fun stuff that’s been going on. Let’s start things off with a pictorial […]
