Genário Barbosa de Oliveira (Trovador-Repentista), A Triste Tragédia de Santo Antonio de Jesus (The Sad Tragedy of St Anthony of Jesus) (Publisher: Self. Registered with the Brazilian Order of Poets of Literature of the String in Salvador-Bahia.)

From the collection of Alastair Johnston.

After asking God for protection, the poet relates how an explosion in the night of 11 December killed 55. Osvaldo Bastos Prazeres was a businessman who got rich selling Þreworks. He had a dairy farm as a front for his illegal fireworks factory that exploded, and it was not the first accident connected with the clandestine enterprise. The poet relates how a baby girl was born by caesarian section from her dead mother, and named Victory. The ancient city of Santo Antonio de Jesus is about 187 km from Salvador.
